CNC Machinist
CNC MachinistPay: $30-35/hourJob Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who is capable of performing tasks that require high levels of cognitive function and judgment. The ideal candidate will be able to respond promptly and appropriately to operating conditions, work in an alert and unfatigued state, and cope with sudden changes in surroundings or emergencies. A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years' experience as a vertical machine operator are required.

ResponsibilitiesFollow verbal machine operation instructions from the department lead.Assess drawings and manufacturing planning for machining requirements.Carefully load parts into machines, operate the machine’s control panel, unload parts, deburr parts, and arrange parts in boxes or on pallets.Monitor features and dimensions on each component run.Support supervisors in the running of production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as a guide for subsequent machining.Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required to ensure quality of productions.Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.Adhere to and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED.Minimum of 4 years' experience as a vertical machine operator.Minimum of 2 years' experience of CNC programming with vertical and horizontal mills, 4th axis machining, positioners, and Fanuc & Okuma controllers.Experience with different types of equipment, inspection tooling, speeds/feeds, and tooling.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with MasterCam.Experience with blueprint reading, mill machining, calipers, micrometers, and machine setup.Sheet metal machining experience (shop is 95% sheet metal machining).Use of personal tools, including lockable toolbox, dead blow, allen wrenches, calipers, tape measure, dial and/or travel indicator is a plus.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Demonstrate a caring, committed, and concerned attitude about safety.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The job operates in a manufacturing plant operation and professional office environment. This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. In the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration, excessive heat, cold, wet, bright light, and slippery conditions. The noise level in the manufacturing plant can be very loud (ear protection is provided). The position offers a 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday, with available shifts being Day Shift (5 am - 3:30 pm) and Swing Shift (1:30 pm - 11 pm).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00
