ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

CMM programmer programs and operates a coordinate measuring machine, which determines an object's dimensions and other qualities to ensure they match those shown on blueprints plans.

Responsible for the programming of the CMM.Development of inspection methods for dimensional layouts and Process Capability Studies.Develop inspection methods and set-ups.Responsible for the use of all laboratory and measurement equipment.Assists in completion of PPAP and Approval Packets.Supports all measuring requirements for the plant including the calibration of tools.Assists in training employees with new and current quality testing equipment.Communicates as needed with internal and external customers regarding dimensional methods.Provides technical support to the Engineering Department on all prototype parts and fixture designs.Assists in incoming inspection audits.Participates in continuous improvement activities.Supports RPS strategic plan by meeting monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives, including all KPls and KPMs pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment as established by your manager. Assumes direct responsibility for meeting primary goals and objectives, as well as assuming a shared and supporting responsibility with other peers and associates for meeting their primary goals and objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency is preferred. Technical School or associate degree Preferred.

MS Office Skills, especially in MS Excel and use preparing spreadsheets with formulasIntermediate math skills to include geometry and the metric system. Ability to read blueprints.Ability to write programs on CMM and use PC-DMIS softwareAbility to learn and use the functions of all measuring tools and equipment, Knowledge of SPC and GD&T Ability to solve problems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.Frequently required to sit.Occasionally required to sit and walk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
