CMM Programmer

Description We are searching for a meticulous and skilled CMM Programmer to join our team in Traverse City, Michigan. In this role, you will be expected to develop and manage CMM programs that facilitate the parts inspection process. This role involves creating intermediate to advanced CMM programs, developing detailed inspection plans, and participating in the company's continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso
• Produce and interpret layout/dimensional CMM reports to determine product conformance
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, including micrometers, calipers, and depth micrometers
• Take part in the ballooning of customer prints/drawings
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team to collect and disseminate quality information
• Contribute to the company's culture of continuous improvement
• Develop detailed work instructions for CMM set-up and operation for various programs
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements • Proficiency in CMM Programming is essential for this role, with demonstrable experience in a similar position.
• Familiarity with Micrometers, having utilized them in a detail-oriented setting before.
• Practical experience in using Caliper, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Strong understanding of Geometric principles and their applications in the field.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and specifications for accurate measurements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality control.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the quality assurance team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience in maintaining and calibrating measurement equipment.
• Proficiency in using computer software for reporting and documenting measurements.
• A solid understanding of quality control standards and regulations in the industry.
