JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and related technologies. This role also requires expertise in integrating and optimizing enterprise systems, such as SAP, within Azure environments. The Cloud Architect will focus on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions that support critical business applications, enhance performance, and align with organizational goals. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to achieving seamless integration and driving the success of cloud strategies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design and Architecture:
+ Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architecture solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and related technologies.
+ Develop strategies for integrating enterprise applications, including SAP, with Azure services.
+ Design and implement SAP and other solutions within Azure, including high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
+ Create architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation for cloud and SAP and other ERP integrations.
Integration and Optimization
+ Lead the migration and integration of systems like SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and other ERP platforms to the Azure environment.
+ Optimize enterprise applications for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency within the cloud environment.
+ Collaborate with SAP Basis teams to ensure seamless integration with Azure services.
+ Ensure seamless integration between cloud services and on-premises or hybrid systems.
Infrastructure and Operations
+ Design and deploy Azure infrastructure to support system workloads, including SAP-certified VMs, networking, and storage.
+ Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises SAP systems with Azure.
+ Establish operational best practices, including monitoring, automation, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
+ Partner with IT, SAP Basis, and functional business teams to align cloud strategies with organizational objectives.
+ Act as a technical advisor, providing expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies and enterprise application integration.
Security and Compliance
+ Ensure solutions on Azure comply with organizational security policies and industry standards.
+ Implement Azure Active Directory integration with SAP systems for secure identity and access management.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
+ Remain current on advancements in Azure, SAP, and other enterprise technologies, identifying opportunities for improvement.
+ Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing and upskilling in cloud and enterprise system domains.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
+ Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, or Azure DevOps Engineer are highly desirable.
+ Extensive experience (4+ years) with Azure services (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, etc.) and cloud architecture and implementation including SAP.
+ Experience with migration tools such as Azure Migrate or SAP-certified Azure tools.
+ Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and DNS configurations.
+ Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
+ Experience in DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring).
+ Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity management, access controls, and encryption.
+ Strong skills in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
+ Proven experience with cloud monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
