This position is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the overall execution and performance of the operation for a specific location, including staffing, customer relations, performance, and direction of the overall operation. The Closing Manager acts as the key point of contact in the absence of the OM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure all routes have been completed in order management system dailyPerform daily audit of delivery tickets for signatures, confirm all product on driver inventory log is accurate, appropriate service codes applied to orders, confirm all delivery exceptions have been notated and communicated appropriately.Handle all shift escalated issues daily and assist in any escalated from shift exchange.Assist in keeping facility clean and floor free of debris.Control, order and monitor part inventory and give an accurate twice monthly report of all material utilizing parts management systemEnsuring rescheduling orders as needed at the before closing shiftClaims Management: Initiate call to schedule site visits with claimants and upload photos/notes in claims management system as neededMonitoring routes to ensure daily route are completed timelyContact MC routes confirmation for next day routes are completed dailyAssist with tasks assigned by the Operations ManagerAttend Department Meetings to remain aware of business plans and their effect on operationsAssign daily workload to shift employees and ensure they are being completedAssist in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of applicantsEnsure that Company policies are adhered to, such as uniform and safety guidelinesProvide excellent customer service to both internal and external customersProcessing administrative task in Workday to keep employee records up to date

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the transportation, logistics, or related industry required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Operates with a customer service mentality. Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write English to understand and give directions, and to complete paperwork accurately. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment as dictated by the duties of the job and perform data entry and typing functions.

Physical Demands

Work is primarily performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. May be exposed to varying weather elements, bends, stoops, stands for long periods of times. Occasionally requires lifting and stacking of items up to thirty (30) pounds and lifting and stacking items up to sixty-five (65) pounds to chest height and carrying them a distance up to fifty (50) feet. Occasionally requires lifting items weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds to a height of ten (10) inches. May require climbing ladders, stair ramps, etc. Requires the use of clear speech communicated to others and understanding the speech of another person. Require the ability to see details of objects within close range.
