Job Description
This position is responsible for all aspects of candidate recruitment and enrollment for clinical research trials. The Clinical Research Coordinator will identify patients who meet study criteria and develop an enrollment strategy to capture qualified candidates into research trials. The role includes conducting community outreach to identify patients who may not be part of the existing patient population. Once candidates confirm their interest in enrolling in a study, the Research Coordinator will create a Case Report Form, meet with patients to provide informed consent documents, orient them to the trial schedule, and manage expectations regarding timelines and therapy courses. The Coordinator will work directly with Research Nurses, Principal Investigators (PIs), and Data Managers to effectively guide patients through the trial.
ResponsibilitiesIdentify patients who meet study criteria and develop an enrollment strategy.Conduct community outreach to identify potential study candidates.Create and complete Case Report Forms.Meet with patients to provide informed consent documents and orient them to the trial schedule.Manage patient expectations regarding timelines and therapy courses.Collaborate with Research Nurses, PIs, and Data Managers.Evaluate and abstract source documentation.Utilize multiple data capture/retrieval systems.Interact with a variety of healthcare delivery systems to identify, track, evaluate, collate, analyze, and submit subject data.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.Maintain productive relationships with colleagues and contacts at affiliate sites.Essential Skills2+ years of clinical research coordinator experience.Knowledge of IRB, regulatory requirements, and FDA guidelines.Experience in patient enrollment and recruitment.Proficiency in EDC (Electronic Data Capture) systems.Familiarity with oncology and cancer clinical trials.Ability to manage essential regulatory documents.Strong data management skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Independent judgment and critical-thinking skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsDiscretionary decision-making skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously.Passion for helping cancer patients and providing enrollment opportunities for underserved populations.Work Environment
Work will be conducted onsite at the School of Medicine clinic. The team supports a specialization in pediatric muscular dystrophy and rare diseases. The total research team consists of 8 members and operates in a team-oriented environment where flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. The team runs Phase I-III and sometimes IV trials, including investigator-initiated trials where they hold the IND as investigator and sponsor. Trials can be single-site or multi-center clinical trials, partnering with biotech or pharma companies, and consortium-centered studies where they are an affiliate of a larger network.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $38.00
