Position TitleClinical Nurse (RN) – Organ Transplant Progressive CareBell HospitalPosition Summary / Career Interest:Positions are full-time and part-time, twelve hours shifts. Multiple shift available such as days, evenings and nights. PRN positions are also available working a variety shifts.
The Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.
Unit 64-Organ Transplant and Renal Progressive Care
Nurses on this 24 bed unit provide compassionate, comprehensive care to critically ill patients throughout all phases of the organ transplant continuum. As a member of the transplant care team, nurses provide specialized care to patients who are awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant as well as those recovering from organ transplant surgery. The Center for Transplant at The University of Kansas Hospital is the largest and most successful transplant program in the region. Nurses on Unit 64 have the opportunity to work as a vital member of a nationally recognized program specializing in the care of liver, kidney and pancreas transplant patients.Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsProvides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Graduate Associate Degree Nursing For ADN prepared nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete BSN degree by the fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHA 6 months to 2 years' experience as a Clinical Nurse
Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor Degree Nursing
Required Licensure and CertificationLicensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing (Kansas) or compact license Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
