Under the direction of a Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), a Clinical Nurse provides professional skilled age specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. Performs all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, medication administration; identifying nursing problems; plans of care; provides or delegates care according to Valleywise Health policies; functions as a client advocate and educator; completes and processes all required documentation; indirectly supervises ancillary personnel as directed; and participates in team building and quality improvement activities. The position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment.   Hourly POOL Pay Rate: $46.00   Qualifications Education: Prefer a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing. Experience: Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have one (1) year of Behavioral Health experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certification/Licensure: Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license; or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice. Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing. Requires a BLS card obtained through American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire. PALS required within six (6) months of hire. ABLS required within one (1) year of hire. Burn Center ICU: BLS and ACLS required upon hire. PALS required within six (6) months of hire. Burn Unit Emergency: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required upon hire. ABLS required within one (1) year of hire. Cath Lab: Must have BLS and ACLS certification at time of hire or transfer. Dialysis: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. ED Roosevelt: Requires ACLS and PALS required upon hire. ATCN or TNCC certification must be obtained within 12 months. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred. ED Maryvale: Requires ACLS and PALS certification upon hire. ENDO: ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) certification preferred. FQHC Primary Care: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. IRP: Must obtain ACLS certification upon Hire or Transfer. Additional certifications may be required to work in specialty areas. Labor and Delivery: ACLS and NRP required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. If less than two (2) years of RN Labor and Delivery experience the candidate must complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring class within six (6) months and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring class within two (2) years. If greater than two (2) years of RN Labor and Delivery experience will need to complete AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring within one (1) year. Advanced Fetal Monitoring must be maintained every two (2) years through an approved course. McDowell Clinic: HIV certification required within 30 months. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. Medical: ONS (Chemotherapy Biotherapy Card) within 12 months of hire or transfer. Must obtain ACLS certification upon Hire or Transfer. Medicine Specialty Clinic: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. MICU: BLS and ACLS required upon hire or transfer. Nephrology: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. NICU: NRP required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Nursing Float Pool: Must obtain ACLS certification upon hire or transfer. Additional certifications may be required to work in specialty areas. Oncology Clinic: Chemo Certification required within six (6) months. OR (other than Peoria): CNOR certification is preferred. OR(Peoria): Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. Peds Acute: PALS and NRP must be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer. PICU: PALS upon hire or transfer and NRP within 6 months or ATCN/TCAR/TNCC within 12 months. Post Partum: NRP is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Intermediate Fetal Monitoring is preferred. PreOp: Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months and ATCN or TNCC certification must be obtained within 12 months. PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months. ATCN or TNCC Certification must be obtained within 12 months. PreOp/PACU (Peoria): Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for fingerprint clearance card. SICU: BLS and ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain ATCN, TNCC or TCAR within 12 months. Surgical: Must obtain ACLS certification within upon hire or transfer. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must. Bilingual is preferred. Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
