The Clinical Nurse Leader independently provides direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices. Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse Leader supervises personnel in the department according to policies and procedures. **Job Description** **Minimum Qualifications:** 1. Massachusetts RN Licensure. 2. 3 Years of RN Experience with at least 1 year as a charge/lead RN. 3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 4. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). **Hours:** 32 hours/week, evenings, 3-11pm No weekends or holidays are required! **Unit Summary:** M3 serves as the hospital’s orthopedic center, and has been recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a center of distinction. The unit’s primary focus is orthopaedics as we care for over one thousand total joint replacements annually. This unit also specializes in spine care, and orthopaedic trauma. M3 consists of 26 private rooms and care for the aforementioned orthopaedic population, as well as adult acute care patients who have a wide variety of diagnoses and co-morbidities providing comprehensive care according to the scope of care defined by the organization and Massachusetts state regulations. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Responsible for the daily nursing assignment of patients on the unit for assigned shift. + Identifies and communicates special staffing needs and/or problems to the Clinical Manager. + Communicates critical patient issues to Clinical Manager and assigns staff appropriately when applicable. + Acts as a clinical resource to nursing staff. + Provides routine patient care and assists in emergency situations. + Ensures departments compliance with regulatory standards. + Regularly perceives potential problem situations and intervenes to offset adverse impact. + Collaborates with physician, healthcare team, and the patient/family in decision making and planning of care during hospitalization and in anticipation of discharge. + Assists nursing staff in the delivery of nursing care and acts as charge nurse. + Guides the professional growth of department staff through precepting and mentoring. + Participates in quality improvement activities. **What We Offer:** • Clinical Advancement Program which provides advancement opportunities and financial rewards • Competitive salaries & benefits • 403(b) with company match • Shared governance: Nurses are encouraged to participate in our unit based councils or one of the many other council opportunities • Tuition reimbursement • Clinical mobility tracks • Free on-campus parking **Magnet Designation:** The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) honored Lowell General Hospital with Magnet Recognition for excellence in nursing care with our 3rd designation achieved in August 2020.
