Clinical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid healthcare providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. Testing is conducted in specialized laboratories and may include highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain laboratory instruments.Troubleshoot assay systems and instruments.Evaluate the accuracy of test results.Assist in interpreting test results.Provide operational support to optimize testing.Work with multiple computer systems to retrieve and report information.Adhere to safety protocols for handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.Assist with specimen collection as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience).Chemistry and Biochemistry degrees preferred.Experience with instrumentation (GC, LC, HPLC, MS) preferred.Experience with laboratory practices in a college, research, or clinical setting is a plus but not required.Master's degree accepted, but not PhD.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
