SUMMARY
Supervises respiratory therapy activities to ensure the quality performance of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for respiratory patients ranging in age from newborn through geriatric.
SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
Supervise respiratory activities on their shift. Duties include scheduling, employee assistance, work assignments, and review. Evaluates patient response to prescribed therapy, recommending changes to improve the patient’s pulmonary status as indicated; and implementing respiratory protocols where necessary. Monitors physician orders to ensure therapeutic procedures are reordered according to hospital departmental policy. Evaluate staff performance, including formal evaluations, feedback, discipline and counseling regarding conduct, attendance, competency, and related matters Monitor/adjust staffing and workload to maintain appropriate levels Conduct staff meetings once per month and PRN Collaborate with director to implement financial plan and department goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners and by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) Two years of critical care experience Bachelor’s degree preferred
