Clinical Manager Rehab Services

Summary:
Reports to the Director Rehabilitation Services. Recruits hires orients directs and evaluates professional and support staff. Oversees the Physical and Occupational Therapy services provided to adult outpatients from 17 years of age throughout the adult years including the geriatric population. Continually evaluates the quality of services and programs making recommendations for change to the Director as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
Integrates services and functions into the organization�s primary mission through collaboration effective communication and development of high quality services and programs.



Develops departmental and organization-wide multi-disciplinary teams to identify and solve problems.



Ensures that all information is disseminated to staff through staff meeting with minutes in-service education and any other means that keeps staff informed.



Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.



Utilizes staff in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.



Provides guidance and education for implementation.



Ensures that staff is knowledgeable and currently informed about policies and procedures.



Recommends that a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff are available to provide services.



Provides 25% direct clinical patient care in area of professional discipline.



Provides for an adequate orientation period for all staff. Shows documentation that orientation period has been completed.



Assures that all staff attends applicable annual training sessions including age appropriate education.



Evaluates competency and takes corrective action when necessary.



Conducts formal performance appraisals for all staff according to hospital policy.



Provides staff with access to incentive training and continuing education.



Assesses and improves performance of care and service.



Includes safety in all performance improvement activities.



Participates and encourages staff participation cross-departmental performance improvement activities.



Communicates results to appropriate staff administration and case management.



Takes action of performance improvements recommended.



Reviews quality control programs and quality control logs whenever appropriate.



Develops a budget that supports the need for department space equipment and resource needs. Communicates these needs to the organization.



Assures that equipment and supplies are suitable for all sizes and ages of patients when appropriate.



Provides administrative and/or clinical direction as appropriate.



Maintains relationships with medical staff administration and other support and clinical services.



Plans directs and coordinates the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services including the professional disciplines of physical therapy and occupational therapy and all programs and services therein.



Works to develop department specific treatment programs.



Displays facility provided identification badge at all times.



Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Seven years progressive management experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for Rehabilitation Services required or equivalent combination of education and experience.



EDUCATION:

Master of Science degree is required that demonstrates an understanding of the principles of management and leadership.



Current Rhode Island license required in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.



Holds current National Provider Identifier (NPI).



Able to read write and communicate effectively in English.



SUPERVISION:

Directly supervises 30-35 employees
