Job Overview:

The Clinical Manager is wholly responsible for the overall leadership, performance and day-to-day activities within the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Treatment Center and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality patient care and service through a blended hands-on and leadership by example approach. This position is responsible for staff management, team building, budgeting, revenue cycle management, clinical operations, physician management and professional education/community referral development. This position works in collaboration with the Regional Program Director, Medical Director, and Hospital Leadership to meet the Center's program objectives and help ensure optimal healing outcomes, patient satisfaction and employee engagement.

Qualifications:

Required:

Current Registered Nurse license with the State of New JerseyBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Current BLS required

Preferred:

Wound Care Certification preferred. If not, must obtain within 1 year of hire.Hyperbaric Safety Training preferred. If not, must obtain within 6 months of hire.Two (2) or more years of Nursing Management experience preferred.

Essential Functions:

Oversees day to day management of outpatient center Continuously assess current outpatient center flows, processes and procedures, identifies areas of improvement, and develops and implements best practices and appropriate changes to improve outcomes.Ensures availability of adequate resources, supplies equipment and services.Proficient in all responsibilities related to Case Management. May be required to provide case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures; clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management. Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities. Provides clinical oversight to clinical and administrative staff, such as Nurse Practitioners (NP), Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians and Front Desk Staff.Collaborates with other healthcare providers, key hospital personnel, wound care center providers, Regional Program Director and Medical Director(s) regarding clinical and patient needs.Builds relationships and referral patterns for both surgical and inpatients of the hospital.Engages in all hospital staff development, providing general in-services as well as individual instruction and orientation. Collaborates with Regional Program Director in coordination of program objectives, from a budgetary and financial perspective.Collaborates with Regional Program Director and Medical Director(s) to achieve wound care center quality indicators.May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing the required safety director training.Following required hyperbaric training, you may act as a chamber operator or emergency chamber operator.Assures center maintains survey readiness for NJ DOH, The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services compliance Performs patient care based on staffing needsConducts interview for prospective staff and determines suitability for hire.Responsible for orientation of new staff, competencies, ensuring mandatory requirements are met and addressing developmental needs.Manages performance management, behavioral management, evaluation process and disciplinary process. Responsible to assuring and managing physician support for HBO clearances and supervision daily.Manages costs through appropriate utilization and management of labor and supply. Completes financial reviews and presents results to Regional Director monthly.Works directly with the hospital marketing department to ensure that the wound are and hyperbaric therapy programs have established strategic marketing plans. Works with community outreach liaison to plan, coordinate, and execute activities directed toward increasing patient referrals to the wound care center.Works collaboratively, as part of a multi-functional team, to best determine the key target referral sources, and develops a systematic approach to building those customer service relationships and increase wound care center referrals. Participates in continuing education meetings, committees or workgroups and identifies personal needs both managerially and clinically and seeks resources as needed.Leads by example and establishes performance expectations, providing regular feedback and consistently managing these expectations.Collaborates with medical director and staff to develop, implement and manage department performance improvement plan to improve quality outcomes.Plans, implements, evaluates and adjusts staffing patterns and clinic flow to improve efficiencies and productivity.Completes, in a timely manner, all billing and utilization documentation requirements via EPIC including registration, charge posting, and supporting medical documentation notes.Prepares, establishes and manages salary, supplies, equipment and material budgets and financial performance objectives in coordination with Regional Program Director.Maximizes patient volume and growth by controlling external barriers including scheduling constraints, scope of supervision coverage, medical clearance, compliance and chamber maintenance. Ensure HIPAA CompliancePromote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a preceptor, mentor and resource to colleagues and staff.Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
