Clinical Director - START

The START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) model serves people diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This comprehensive model of service supports and optimizes independence, treatment, and community living for individuals with I/DD and behavioral health needs.Under the direction of the region’s START leadership, the START Clinical Director provides full-time clinical oversight and supervision to clinical team and therapeutic support services, responsible for Clinical Education Team Meetings, provides consultation to community providers/psychologists, provides training to build capacity in the system, provides back-up on-call support.Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with the Director on developing community relationships and linkagesProvide clinical supervision to the Clinical Team Lead(s) and Therapeutic Coach Team Lead(s)Provide group clinical supervision to the Clinical Team CoordinatorsWork with the Medical Director to provide weekly clinical consult to Coordinators/Team Leads on START recipients with complex presentationsProvide oversight and consultation on positive behavior and interaction supports Review START related documentation and provide clinical inputProvide training and consultation to staff, families and providers Plan and facilitate monthly Clinical Education Team Assist START Coordinators with preparation for START Coordinator certificationTake active clinical leadership role in team meetingsDevelop positive support and interaction plans as necessary for guests at the resource center who require more extensive safety measuresParticipate in discussion regarding potential resource center admissionsProvide on-site consultation as needed for persons receiving START therapeutic supportsEnter, monitor and assure data entry for all team members in the START Information Reporting System.  Use data to inform programmatic decision-makingMinimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) Ph.D. in psychology and licensed by the state’s/province’s Psychology BoardExtensive experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), specifically with people who have IDD and behavioral health needs. Experience developing and implementing positive behavior support plans preferredMust be a certified coordinator or can complete the START Coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hiring

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)     Prior experience as a START Coordinator and/or START clinical team leader  Current START Coordinator Certification Compensation:$90,000.00-100,000.00 annually
