Clinical Coordinator - Surgical Services - FT Weekdays

The Clinical Coordinator's role is to assist the department director in the day - to - day management of departmental operations and personnel management. The Clinical Coordinator must be knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with, all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, and will maintain departmental policies and procedures in support of these standards and other organizational initiatives.

·         Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with
performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assists with selection process of new staff as directed.

·         Cross-trains to Nursing Supervisor and covers as assigned

·         Leads unit in the Director's absence, responsible and accountable for daily operations, quality, patient safety, productivity, and performance metrics

·         Assigned direct reports and completes performance evaluations as assigned

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

CNOR or ASPAN certification required within 6 months of hire

Required Skills:

Licenses: Current Virginia State RN License

Certifications:

Basic Life Support BLS (may be obtained week of orientation)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS (new hires have 30 days to obtain)

Minimum Work Experience:

Required: 3 years of experience as Registered Nurse in an acute setting
Preferred: 5 years of experience as Registered Nurse in an outpatient procedural or surgical setting
Preferred: Specialty certification in nursing (CNOR, ASPAN)
