Clinical Assistant Professor - Community Health and Family Medicine

The Department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville seeks a family medicine/sports medicine physician (MD/DO) to join us. You will be assigned to work part-time in the new ‘Primary Care Sports Medicine’ division providing care in the outpatient setting only, as well as provide outpatient primary care.

The position is for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor on a clinical, non-tenure accruing track at one of our outpatient care offices in the greater Jacksonville area.

This position is up to full-time and will report to the medical director and chair of the department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.  Guaranteed base salary is commensurate with experience. There are significant additional productivity incentives and a generous benefits package.  The position may be eligible for government student loan repayment programs.

Practice is in a dynamic environment that provides outpatient care to patients of all ages. There is potential to perform a variety of procedures including gynecologic, musculoskeletal and dermatologic. Opportunity exists to teach medical students during their clinical rotations, in addition to overseeing junior faculty and Advanced Practice Providers. Additionally, promotion to Clinical Associate Professor and /or Clinical Professor is available to qualified candidates.


The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is the largest of the three colleges at the Health Science Center Jacksonville. The college is affiliated with UF Health in Jacksonville, a health system comprised of two hospitals — the 603-bed UF Health Jacksonville and 92-bed UF Health North — and more than 60 primary and specialty care practices throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

The college's 16 clinical science departments house more than 440 faculty members, 1,560 staff and 384 residents and fellows, as well as medical students from UF and around the country.

Clinical rotations in all major disciplines are provided on campus for students from the UF College of Medicine. Third-year medical students enrolled at UF spend about 25 percent of their training at the Jacksonville campus, gaining valuable experience in an urban setting. This will increase to 100% in 2025.


For practicing physicians, the college offers a continuing medical education program that recruits national and international speakers who are well known and respected in their fields.
The college's faculty, residents and fellows are active in clinical research.

The campus houses a 16,000-square-foot clinical and translational research facility. To support faculty and resident research, the college has a Center for Data Solutions, offering researchers analytics, epidemiology and biostatistics support, and a Center for Research Training, helping develop the next generation of highly collaborative clinical researchers.

Located in the Northeastern part of the state on the Atlantic Ocean, Jacksonville’s weather is sunny and pleasant. We enjoy an average of 320 days of sunshine each year, yet have the coolest summers in the state. Known as the River City, Jacksonville is a major port city with numerous waterways, two naval bases, several nature preserves, marshes, lakes, wetlands and miles of public beaches. Flowing through Jacksonville is the 310 mile St. Johns River, which plays a major role in our work and play. Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must be MD/DO and have an active Florida medical license. Preference will be given to candidates who are board certified/board eligible.
