Clinic Practice Manager (UVA Primary Care Locust Grove)

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Clinic Practice Manager is responsible for managing the clinical, operational, and financial activities within 1 or more ambulatory clinics, may provide complex services within the clinic setting or see high volumes of patients. Works collaboratively with the Lead Provider, Associate Medical Director, Ambulatory Director, CPG/UPG teams and other UVA Health departments, management, faculty and other stakeholders to ensure: timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice productivity, fiscal integrity, patient satisfaction and employee engagement. Primary responsibilities include: human resources management, practice business development, daily operational efficiency, effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Ensures the effective, safe and therapeutic clinical services meet established regulations and guidelines. All responsibilities are fulfilled consistent with the mission, vision, and values of UPG and UVA Health.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**
**Essential Functions of the Job:**
+ Manages clinical and facility operations for 1 or more clinics. Clinic may provide complex services (procedures) and/or see high volumes of patients.
+ Creates, monitors, and analyzes budgets to explain variances and conduct ongoing evaluation of productivity, and participates in capital budgeting process.
+ Responsible for oversight of invoices and payment request to Accounts Payable.
+ Develops and implements staffing models and plans to support within and top of scope practice and to support provider templates and patient population needs.
+ Interviews, selects, mentors, and evaluates clinic team members.
+ Facilitates orientation and onboarding activities, evaluation effectiveness of orientation.
+ Responsible for continuous performance management and professional development of clinical team members and conducts formal performance appraisals.
+ Administers corrective performance counseling and administrative action appropriately.
+ Assesses team member satisfaction and develops and implements strategies to promote retention and to recognize and reward team members.
+ Leads performance improvement activities, identifying key performance indicators, evaluating performance data, and responding to outcome measure findings.
+ Assesses patient experience data and develops strategies to address satisfaction issues.
+ Promotes evidence-based practices, monitors patient safety, reports adverse events, and facilitates real-time-root-cause problem solving.
+ Builds and maintains strong interdisciplinary relationships through influence, communication, collaboration, and shared decision-making and understands components of culture competence as applicable to the healthcare workforce.
+ Ensures compliance with standards set forth by external licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Monitors and promotes workplace safety requirements.
+ Practices ethical behavior and supports clinical standards and scopes of practice.
+ Maintains clinical competency to provide patient care as needed.
+ Assures clinical team and Provider’s skills, competencies, licensures and credentialing are maintained as appropriate.
+ Acts as the liaison between various CPG and various UVA Health departments as needed, through participation in intradepartmental meetings and/or committees to ensure consistent standards of practice and communication.
+ Collaborate with UPG facilities team to support building maintenance needs, improvements and/or projects.
+ Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development.
+ May provide direct patient care as needed if licensed.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)** **:**
Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Licensure:
+ None required
+ Licensed to practice as Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
Experience:
+ 3 years relevant experience required
+ 2 years supervisory/management in an Ambulatory Environment experience preferred
Knowledge and skills:
+ Basic knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** **:** This position will have non-exempt and exempt clinical positions reporting to it.
**WORKING CONDITIONS** **:** General busy medical office environment. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, training, and programs.
