Job Posting Title: Clinic Athletic Trainer Location: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center Additional Posting Details: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities + Accurately and timely documents patient assessments, interventions, evaluates overall response of patient/family. + patient/family response to care, and revises the plan of care as needed, along with any patient/family education. + Assists with post-operative Physical Therapy protocols and research / standard of care questionnaires assignments based on patient/diagnosis. + Effectively assists in the prevention, assessment and treatment of sports related injury by providing brace fittings, functional assessments, home exercise programs, etc. + Coordinates outside therapy and other referrals for patient families as needed. + Enters orders and referrals as delegated by the provider or standing policy + Performs telephone triage assessment to manage a patient/parent/guardian call to determine the urgency of the medical issue, appropriate recommendation for care and intervention (with escalation to provider as appropriate), and timing of appointment scheduling, if needed. + Provides individualized patient/parent education utilizing input from the family + Communicates sport-specific education and limitations with athletic trainers, coaches, etc. + Takes responsibility for own professional development, asking questions to gain professional insight, enhance clinical skills and function as an effective part of the team. + Participates in educational events & serves as a preceptor for new staff + Accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment + Assists clinic staff with administrative needs + Maintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical record + Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights + Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals + Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations + Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts + Practices financial and resource stewardship + Engages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization’s core values + Additional duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities + Bachelor’s degree in an athletic training program or related field required + National Athletic Trainer’s Association certification required + License in the state of Texas required + BLS required + Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred At Scottish Rite for Children, we work together with the common goal of helping give children back their childhood.
