Role purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Relationship Manager with deep expertise in investment management, fund management, and private wealth management. This role is pivotal in strengthening relationships with key clients who rely on our software to access real-time global market data, manage client relationships, execute trades, and manage portfolios to optimise performance.
As the primary liaison between our clients and Iress, you will ensure our solutions drive tangible value for their investment operations. You will engage directly with portfolio managers, fund managers, and private wealth professionals to understand their evolving needs, support product adoption, and identify opportunities to enhance their workflows. By leveraging your industry knowledge, you will help clients maximise the benefits of our platform while driving revenue growth through strategic account management, retention, and expansion.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial markets, portfolio management processes, and wealth management technology, coupled with exceptional relationship management and commercial acumen.
 

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...

Build and maintain client relationships including being a trusted contact point for key decision makers

Engage with clients to understand their overall strategy, business problems and priorities and where we can deliver solutions.  

Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets that incorporate client retention, and uplift from increased usage and the sale of additional solutions.

Achieve agreed activity targets that focus on regular proactive client engagement in line with a structured plan. Engage with clients regularly and in line with a structured engagement model.

Apply the Iress commercial ways of working in all activities including engaging with clients and prospects via our chosen methodology, process and tool-set.

Produce and implement successful client management plans.

Lead commercial negotiations and ongoing revenue forecasting for clients.

Work with clients to implement and ensure adoption of Iress products. This includes proactively educating clients on new release functionality or features and the benefits this brings to their business. 

Support the delivery of new and enhanced product features and propositions to the market by establishing clear adoption and account plans, following the necessary internal process to engage specialists for complex requirements.

Is a point of escalation and information for client support teams and may be occasionally required to assist with the management of tickets to ensure optimal client experience is maintained. 

Build a network within industry including clients and prospects and contribute to opportunities to promote Iress where available. 

What you will bring:

Qualifications and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or related field (required)

Professional certification such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or equivalent (preferred)

Professional Skills and Competencies

Client Relationship Management: Proficient in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Capable of identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling products or services to meet client requirements and drive revenue growth.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients at all levels of the organisation. Skilled in active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution to address client concerns and maintain positive relationships.

Strategic Account Planning: Experienced in developing and implementing strategic account plans to achieve business objectives and maximise client value. Capable of analysing market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to meet client needs. Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner, considering both short-term and long-term implications.

Negotiation and Persuasion Skills : Skilled in negotiation techniques and persuasive communication to influence client decisions and overcome objections. Able to negotiate mutually beneficial agreements, pricing structures, and contract terms to achieve win-win outcomes for the company and the client.

Value Proposition Development : Able to articulate the unique value proposition of the company's products or services to clients, demonstrating how they address specific pain points or deliver tangible benefits. Capable of customising value propositions to different client segments and effectively communicating them through sales presentations and proposals.

Customer Retention Strategies : Experienced in developing and implementing customer retention strategies to maximise client satisfaction, loyalty, and lifetime value. Skilled in proactive account management, post-sales support, and value-added services to ensure long-term relationships with clients.

Business Acumen: Deep understanding of the company's products, services, and industry trends, as well as the competitive landscape. Capable of aligning client needs with the company's offerings and providing strategic guidance to drive business growth and profitability.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial Services (required)

Previous experience in Wealth or Portfolio Management, Investment Advisory or similar (preferred)
