What you’ll be doing
Under the direction of the Executive Director & Head, Client Portfolio Management, the Client Portfolio Manager, Institutional Risk Solutions, will play an integral role in the success of CIBC AM’s Canadian institutional business. This includes acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for liability-driven-investment (LDI) mandates, insurance solutions, risk capital solutions and other risk-constrained mandates. You'll provide expertise and commercialization for developing custom investment solutions, participate in strategic projects, and partnering with client servicing/business development to represent the firm’s institutional solutioning capabilities.

How you’ll succeed
Innovative solutions - Develop innovative solutions for clients and prospects that achieve their risk management objectives within their investment constraints. Develop liability driven investment benchmarks, create and test model portfolios, customize reporting based on client requirements, and assist with the preparation of investment management agreements.
Project work - Lead and/or participate in strategic projects looking to expand or evolve CIBC’s suite of liability aware and risk capital solutions.
Provide solutions - Support the LDI, risk-solution platform by acting as a SME for business development teams, attending client/prospect meetings, building/maintain marketing material, RFP responses and client case studies showcasing capabilities. Evolve our LDI and risk-solutions platform by researching and implementing global best practices and innovations.
Reporting - Oversee and evolve key client reporting for existing and new risk-solutions provided on monthly & quarterly basis.
Leadership - Manage and develop junior team members.
Who you are
You can demonstrate experience across any of the following: LDI, ALM, fixed income, risk-seeking assets, derivatives, stochastic modelling, defined benefit pension plans.
You have a university degree preferably in Business, Finance or Actuarial Science.
You’re a certified professional. Preferably, you have current accreditation with the CFA Institute along with applicable Securities commission requirements for advising institutional clients.
Deep actuarial knowledge as evidenced by FSA/FCIA designation.
You can demonstrate experience in at least two of the following: Institutional Client Servicing, Institutional Sales/Marketing, Portfolio Management, Asset consulting.
