What is the opportunity?

The RBC Capital Markets Client Intelligence team plays an integral role in support of the firm’s key strategic client initiatives. The Client Intelligence team is part of the Business Resource Management division which supports all global businesses within Capital Markets including Global Markets Sales & Trading, Corporate Banking & Investment Banking.

The CI team is responsible for ensuring accurate client revenue reporting and leverages internal data (revenue, resource utilization, CRM interactions) and external data (competitor benchmarking, client provided scorecards and feedback) to deliver analytical business insights. The data and analytics provided by the CI team empowers the business to make more informed decisions on its clients and supports its formulation of sales and client strategies.

What will you do?

Leverage various data sources (internal metrics, benchmarking data, client feedback, CRM data) to provide business intelligence and design visualizations in Tableau that highlight actionable client insights in support of strategic business initiatives.Support the annual sales & client planning process and partner with Sales and business management to develop KPIs to track business performance.Coordinate and be responsible for client benchmarking data submissions to external competitor benchmarking vendors.Support the evolution of RBC’s client analytics by working on data initiatives the improve client revenue data and enhance client profitability metrics.Support the Sales platform’s strategic initiatives to increase revenue and deepen relationships by providing thoughtful client data analysis.Support Senior Relationship Management and Global Sales Management’s Global Account Review process by delivering client analytics and performing client opportunity analysis to support the formulation of a client plan to increase client returns.Provide senior leadership client briefs and opportunity analysis ahead of client meetings.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

Passion for data, analysis and visualizationsDemonstrated ability to organize and structure large amounts of dataAdvanced proficiency in Tableau dashboards & visualizations, Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts & graphs), SQL and/or PythonAbility to understand business requirements and design reports, KPIs and/or dashboards to solve business reporting and analytics needsPositive attitude and collaborative work approach; ability to work independently and in a teamAbility to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives and prioritiesExperience managing internal stakeholders or clientsAbility to work in fast-paced environment; be agile and flexible to support business needsStrong written & verbal communication skills; ability to communicate confidently and effectively to all levelsInfluencing skills; ability to build relationships with key internal stakeholders and partnersSelf-starter, ability to progress and deliver initiatives with little direction / oversightAmbition & drive; doesn’t settle for status quo and looks for ways to improve and thinks outside the boxBachelor’s degree or higher; at least 2 years of work experience in data visualization and analytics

Nice to have:

Capital Markets experience, knowledge of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Futures and Equities) or Corporate & Investment Banking businessesExperience with client provided ranking and feedback such as scorecards and broker votesExperience working in a trading floor environmentAbility to effectively communicate to senior management in a concise mannerStrong PowerPoint skills; ability to synthesize large amounts of information to key takeaways and themesExperience in supporting senior leadership and executives

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000- $150,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
