Job Description:

Job Summary:

The incumbent performs various administrative duties related to the administration of social security payee's funds including data entry, check writing and reconciling reports.

Essential Job Functions:

Be aware of the beneficiary's current day-to-day needs (i.e., food, clothing, shelter, medical and personal items);

Use his or her payments to meet the beneficiary's needs;

Keep separate records for each beneficiary for whom you are payee, for at least 2 years detailing deposits made and funds spent, including receipts

Responsible for filing all annual reports with Social Security;

Responsible for filing any on demand reports from Social Security;

Work with Creditor's on Payee's behalf;

Monitor Spend downs for clients;

Act as the primary point of contact for all Payees questions and concerns 10) Responsible for check issuance weekly ensuring timely payment

Other duties and projects as assigned by Director, Vice President, and/or Executive Team member.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Exceptional knowledge and skill in administrative assistance.

Strong skills working with Microsoft Office Applications including, but not limited to Excel, Word and Power Point.

Ability to effectively communicate with diverse workforce.

Highly detailed oriented, skilled in accuracy.

Ability to work with information in a confidential manner.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

High school diploma with courses in typing or business practices AND

At least (2) years’ experience in a secretarial or accounting position OR

Graduated from an accredited school specializing in accounting and business procedures.

Supervisory Requirements: 

None.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
