Departmental Overview From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, the Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes four orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health experts, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists. Our skilled providers can treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday to meet our patient’s needs. Job Summary Greets all clients and guests in a courteous manner while initiating the check-in and checkout process. Obtains and verifies accurate client identification and demographical data to confirm or update Client's permanent medical record, while recognizing and maintaining the confidentiality of all client information. Responsible for completing the client registration process, upfront or point of service collections, and providing professional customer service during face-to-face, as well as telephone interactions with clients and guests, providers, nurses, and other personnel. Verification of insurance and benefits prior to scheduled surgery. Qualifications Education High School education or the equivalent GED. Prefer course work in medical terminology Experience Six months clerical and customer service experience required. Some computer experience required. Prefer medical and insurance experience. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment Compensation $14.86-$24.27/hr depending on previous work experience.
