The Massachusetts Military Division is looking for a professional to fill a Clerk III position to control and facilitate access to Otis Air National Guard Base at Joint Base Cape Cod. The purpose of this position is to collaborate with base agencies to facilitate access and to properly vet visitors and contractors. The Clerk III will issue Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) cards and day passes to properly vetted visitors and contractors and ensure base access point DBIDS equipment is operational.
Ideal candidates for this position may have knowledge of and experience with Air Force security programs and practices as well as Air Force access control program management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contractor/Visitor Vetting Process
Functions as the access card Site Security Manager as directed and Base Security Officer as directed.Ensure contractors and visitors have been vetted and their identities have been verified through picture ID.Assist contractors with filling out necessary entrance information forms.Enter visitors’ and contractors’ information into access card database and issue badges for base entrance.Maintain contractor information throughout contracts.Attend scheduled contract pre-construction meetings and brief requirements for contractor and vehicle access. Advise sponsors of the requirements and forms necessary to facilitate visitor access.Records Management
Complete and maintain all required records management related training.Work with the base records manager to maintain a squadron records inventory.Other records management related duties as required.ABOUT OUR AGENCY

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare correspondence in final format.Knowledge of formats, administrative procedures, and common terminology of the security career field.The ability to file material in accordance with standard filing procedures and ability to maintain accurate records.Knowledge of computers and use of applicable software in performing and accomplishing assigned duties. The ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes, and symbols.The ability to interpret Air Force Directives and establish effective programs to accomplish unit objectives.The ability to communicate effectively with both military and civilian personnel up and down the chain of command.Knowledge of and/or experience with Air Force access control program management and Air Force security programs and practices.Qualifications Acquired on the Job
Will be the subject matter expert for the access cards system and contractor/visitor access programs.Will be able to interpret existing guidance and apply it to differing units and situations on the installation.Will be able to provide cogent advice to commanders and installation leadership regarding installation access.First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office work, or (B) an equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below:
I. A diploma as evidence of graduation from the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
II. A diploma as evidence of graduation from a course other than the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school or possession of a Massachusetts high school equivalency certificate may be substituted for a maximum of eight months of the required experience.
III. A diploma for completion of a one year, full-time, or equivalent part-time program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum or one year of the required experience.
IV. A diploma for completion of a two-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for the required experience.
Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
