Job Overview:

A clerk is responsible for organizing and maintaining patient information, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and efficient record retrieval within a healthcare setting. Their role involves updating records, managing filing systems and assisting healthcare professionals in accessing relevant patient data.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School DiplomaStrong data entry skills Knowledge of HIPPA and client confidentiality lawsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdvanced organization skillsAttention to detail to ensure accuracyFamiliarity with medical terminologyBasic computer skills to scan, organize and access electronic health recordsGood time management skillsExcellent problem-solving skills

Preferred:

One (1) year office or Medical Office experience

Performs high volume scanning of patient recordsPrints and faxes patient reports to referring doctors as neededFiles new medical recordsPulls charts, records, and other medical information when neededProcesses expired patient recordsAttends training sessions as requiredProcesses patient record requestsScheduling appointmentsAnswering emails and phone callsWelcoming patients at the front desk
