We are searching for a clerical assistant to process basic motor vehicle and driver licensing applications from the general public, over the counter, and in a face-to-face environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for using basic knowledge of Motor Vehicle Code, procedures, and regulations adopted by the Department of Transportation pertaining to registration and licensing. You will also be responsible for examining and distributing driver license and registration credentials to customers after verifying identity at the counter designated pick-up window. Additional duties include examining and processing bureau forms to ensure proper issuance of replacement or corrections to motor vehicle and driver license credentials, including but not limited to duplicate titles, registration plates, cards, and placards for persons with disabilities, driver's license and motor vehicle registration renewals, and non-driver identification renewals or replacements. You will also be responsible for reviewing insurance suspension letters and determining eligibility to either start or restore registration suspensions and researching discrepancies then retrieving required documents to correct customer records. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or + Graduation from high school; or + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
