About The Position

The Clean Energy Transition Cost Effectiveness Strategist, as a part of the Clean Energy Transition team, is responsible for developing and documenting Ameren Illinois' cost effectiveness strategy and approach across both gas and electric businesses. This position will lead cost effectiveness initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis and discussion of alternatives to develop and promote best practices.

Ameren Illinois is undergoing a transformation, which will shape the future of its business, and this role is critical to achieving a clean, renewable, affordable and reliable energy portfolio for the Company in alignment with the state’s clean energy goals.

**Other Ameren Illinois offices may be considered based upon mutual agreement between hiring leader and successful candidate; Collinsville and Peoria are preferred locations.

Key responsibilities include:

Manage Ameren Illinois cost-effectiveness framework (as defined in the grid plan) for items pertaining to new clean energy (i.e. pilots, EE, new business models, DERs).Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence to optimize cost effectiveness.Participate as a cost effectiveness SME in all regulatory proceedings, staying current in the industry, and being able to speak confidently in that approach in various settings as well as maintaining standard guidance in application of cost effectiveness principles.Lead and support all new business model and financial benefit evaluation of new clean energy technology (including defining future BCAs).Support Smart Grid and DER Integration cost-effectiveness evaluation.Serve as cost benefit SME and participate in any cost/value proceeding, advising accordingly.Provide support to the team for development and execution of clean energy strategy initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, marketing, or related discipline from an accredited University required. Master’s and/or MBA preferred. Seven or more years of relevant experience in costing, strategy, marketing, business management, program management, or data analytics is required. Experience in the utility business required.   Experience in operations in the utility business preferred. Three or more years of supervisory or high-level team/project leadership required.  Formal supervisory experience preferred.
