Job Description
The classroom observers under Dirassa in partnership with UNICEF will be responsible for the monitoring of teaching modalities inside the classrooms in the assigned schools. They will be trained by world learning and responsible of completing assessment forms. Classroom observers will ultimately report back to IRC Education Officers on identified issues in the assigned locations/semi-private and/or private schools in BML. The position will be under the supervision of the Education Officer
· Program’s Deliverables:
+ Actively attend training related to the monitoring of teaching modalities, data entry and reporting.
+ In coordination with the Education officers, and according to the set plan, conduct regular visits to Dirasa classrooms and monitor the performance, teaching modalities & classroom management implemented by teachers inside the class.
+ Report back and fill out reports linked to each teacher on performance inside the class.
+ Report back to Education Officer on any need of additional training or coaching to be conducted to teachers.
+ Participate in weekly reporting and planning meeting to ensure adherence to standards of care quality and reporting requirements.
+ Ensure coordination with Education Officer and all actors involved in the project to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
+ Report complaints and challenges to the Education Officer.
+ In coordination with Education Officer, identify and achieve set target for number of observations.
+ Ensure confidentiality of the observation information.
+ Follow IRC security measures and policies.
+ Enter Observation data into platforms/ data base systems- ensure accuracy of entered data.
+ Any other task as assigned by the Education team serving the project overall.
Qualifications
+ Technical / University degree in education, pedagogy, or related field.
+ Experience in filling surveys and data entry.
+ Knowledge of humanitarian principles and good knowledge of the region and local language
+ Experience in working with refugee communities in Lebanon.
+ Capability to establish with the persons and families a good and respectful contact to ensure the quality of implementation activities.
+ Good communication and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
+ Working experience in NGOs is a plus.
+ Experience in teaching is a plus.
+ Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English and French.
+ Autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision.
+ Flexibility, commitment, work ethics and team spirit.
