TRAINING, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School degree or recognized equivalent, 6 or more units or equivalent quarter units of post-secondary child development or early childhood education course work from an accredited college or university; and either an Associate’s Degree of Arts (AA) or have completed 48 college/university semester units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification; experience working with people diverse groups and cultures; one (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with preschool children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable, supplemented by courses in childcare, supervision, psychology or guidance; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. CERTIFICATE: First Aid and CPR Certificate and Immunizations required by Community Care Licensing regulations A completed online application is required to be considered for the opening. Under direction, to assist the teacher in a parenting program; to provide services to children ages two years, nine months to five years, five months; to assist in the care, supervision, and learning activities in the classroom and on the playground; to perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel and to do related work as required.
