Additional Information:
This is a term appointment currently expected to extend through May 15, 2026, with potential for renewal subject to funding and departmental need. This part time position works 17.5 hours per week during the academic year and is placed on a seasonal leave of absence (unpaid) for the summer break. The academic year work schedule begins a few days before the start of the fall term.

As a Class Recordings Assistant, you will:
+ Facilitate timely dissemination of class recordings to eligible students, collaborating with DOS student support staff, Registrar’s Office staff, and/or HLS Information Technology Services (ITS), as appropriate.
+ Communicate with students and/or faculty regarding the recording delivery process, and respond to questions or concerns about policy, procedure, or recording delivery status.
+ Maintain data related to recording delivery and removal.
+ Assist DOS student support staff with exam hotline support during exam periods.
+ As needed, provide back-up support for approving or denying class recording requests based on HLS policies as outlined in the Handbook of Academic Policies.
+ May assist in preparing reports for DOS and/or Student Services leadership.

The Dean of Students Office (https://hls.harvard.edu/dept/dos/) (DOS) works with faculty and other Harvard Law School (HLS) administrative offices to orient 1,800 students to law school life and to provide resources and counseling on a variety of matters that may arise in both students’ academic and personal lives.
The Class Recordings Assistant will support HLS administrative staff by managing the dissemination of class recordings and the data entry and record keeping related to such requests. This position will also serve as back-up for recording team members who review requests from students who have personal or medical emergencies.
