Aon South Africa is hiring a Claims Service Advisor in our Risk Solutions department, this is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Sandton office. The role of the Claims Service Advisor is to manage the claims process from registration to finalization. What the day will look like As a Claims Service Advisor, your responsibilities will include: Responsible for the provision of claims services to clients, specifically relating to claims administration and resolving specific claims issues Responsible for Liability, Medmal, PI and D&O type claims Registers new claims on relevant systems Provides Client Managers with claims statistics Liaises with other claims personnel (where applicable) to identify and resolve claims issue(s) Deals with insurers/ claims service providers to resolve issues, including the appointment of assessors and/ or loss adjustors Maintains accurate records on claims systems and files Acquires advice from insurers and communicates with clients in respect of claims status Contributes to overall effectiveness of the team, productivity targets and service level agreements via effective planning and organizing of workload Responsible for managing aggregates including fund management Responsible for monthly reporting to the relevant stakeholders Attends monthly meetings with clients and Client Managers How this opportunity is different The culture at Aon enables us to bring our best each day and do great work for our clients. And when businesses thrive, communities and people flourish. Skills and experience that will lead to success Qualifications. A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is preferable. LLB degree is advantageous (or studying towards it). Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act. Must be registered as a licentiate with the IISA (or studying towards). Knowledge. Excellent knowledge of policy wordings Claims Administration know-how A comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets will be advantageous. An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals will be advantageous. Computer literacy with advanced knowledge in MS Word and Excel. Skills and Attributes. Advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities. Good interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in and with teams. Good communication skills. Experience. Have a minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience in a similar or related role Proven claims advisory experience.
