This is an entry level position within the subrogation department, supporting claims personnel in all disciplines. Performs duties that include processing paperwork and mail, issuing payments, answering incoming phone calls, enters data into various systems, processes electronic financial transactions. Updates and maintains records which may include database or other computer records. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required. Performs all duties under general supervision.
What you’ll do:
Under direct supervision of Claims Management, the responsibilities of the Claims Processor include:
Answer moderately complex telephone inquiries and screen or transfer calls to appropriate party.
Take messages as appropriate.
May also respond to incoming mail inquires.
Maintain office filing systems.
Update and maintain records which may include databases or other computer records.
May process information of a confidential or technical nature.
May perform administrative duties to support the department and its staff.
May schedule appointments/reserve facilities.
Duties may also include issues relating to facilities, employees, supplies, safety, etc.
Monitor the operating condition of all office equipment.
May also be responsible for monitoring inventory of office supplies and equipment.
May facilitate communication between office staff, field representatives, vendors, or members/customers.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
What you bring:
1 to 3 years secretarial experience preferred.
Moderate skills in using Microsoft Office products required.
Moderate knowledge of applicable ACSC computer programs preferred.
Advanced skill in using general office equipment required.
Moderate verbal, telephone and written communication skills required.
Advanced organizational skills required.
Requires ability to prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy.
Must be comfortable handling electronic monetary transactions.
Moderate knowledge of inside cashiering system necessary.
10 key data entry & hot key skills required.
Good interpersonal skills required.
Insurance background preferred but not necessary.
