The role of the Claims Data and Reporting Analyst is to lead the strategic direction for the provision of management information for customers and the business to lead decision making leading to improved performance management and customer satisfaction

Key Performance Areas
Contribute through provision of MI to organisational change decisions within claims through internal and external data sources
Identify the areas of the business where MI needs to be sourced to monitor and analyse historical real time and predicted performance of business area in order to highlight trends identify causes of underperformance and find opportunities for improvement
Facilitate and direct the production of appropriate management reporting for both internal and external customers to deliver transparency of claims performance against business goals and customer expectation/SLA
Interpret various sources of data and information to build business focused solutions that contribute to the successful delivery of the business goals of the business area
Analyses qualitative and quantitative data to produce a report that identifies trends for business improvement and potential solutions
Implement systems models and practices to facilitate trends analysis and forecasting
Apply Risk & Controls Reporting processes at a strategic level for organisational units
Submit present and explain the resultant reports to the appropriate stakeholders
Specify and define MI solutions to monitor performance against plan and identify benefit
Managing the work with IT through to delivery

Relationships
Engage with other colleagues within the Claims
Collaborate with other Functions such as Underwriting Finance Actuarial and Sales
Reports informs regulatory or legislative bodies

Requirements
Matric
Advanced MS Excel Qualification
Completed or studying towards a tertiary qualification specialising in Informatics would be advantageous
3 years in an analytical role
3 years in the short term insurance industry
Experience within claims would be advantageous
Expert Knowledge of the insurance value chain and process
Proven track record in using data mining tools and data analysis
Reconciliation experience and a financial understanding
Intermediate SAS/SQL/XL/Business Object and DB construction skills
Good knowledge and understanding of database design and structures
Awareness of local regulatory requirements
Is able to effectively demonstrate track record in monitoring and providing performance data to support business goals and targets
Good report writing skills
Recognise the benefit of providing excellent customer service
Be able to demonstrate that in their previous experience they have gone the extra mile
Be able to articulate how to prioritise and work to deadlines
Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
