Claims Consultant (Workers Compensation)

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Local Government Workcare Team at Marsh Australia. This role will be based in Brisbane, QLD office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

JLT Risk Solutions in Queensland operates under a long-term contract with the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) to manage Local Government Workcare (LGW) and provides financial, WH&S, rehabilitation and claims management services to LGW’s 65 member Councils under a group self-insurance licence.

This fantastic career opportunity requires you to determine and manage statutory workers’ compensation claims in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Qld Act 2003. You will also contribute to the effective operation of the Claims Management Services to achieve the goals and objectives of the LGW Scheme. We will count on you to:

Provide high-quality claims management services to scheme members.Manage statutory claims from determination to finalization, applying technical expertise on complex claims.Respond to all clients’ needs in a timely manner to meet customer service standards.Maintain the claims management system, including claim estimates.Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and ethical standards, liaising with stakeholders as necessary.

What you need to have:

2-3 years’ experience in a similar broking/operational role, preferably in an insurance related fieldKnowledge of the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Qld Act 2003.Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems and establish work priorities, either while working independently or as a member of a team.Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors.Effective computer literacy, including basic skills in MS Excel, Outlook & Word.Proven ability to apply lateral thinking to complex problems and negotiate workable solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills
