How you will create an impact:

Manage key claims handling inquiries, coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessmentsEnsure effective vendor management on complex claims within a personal allocationReport key claims messages to management and to internal stakeholdersMaintain broader internal / external stakeholder communication with insuredEnsure adherence to best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements

Accountabilities:

Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor expenseEffective communication and management of key advanced complex claims and Inland Marine portfolio messages to internal stakeholders and customers/clientsFinancial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction disciplineAccurate and consistent policy interpretation

Technical Skills and Expertise:

Technically sound and highly knowledgeable in Inland Marine claims, particularly involving vehicle physical damage and contractors' equipmentAbility to process the sale of salvage with external vendorsEffectively negotiate with repair facilities and with towing yards for release of equipment often with invoices more than the available policy limitsPossess policy language skills for accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation in addition to obtaining vehicle schedules and endorsementsHave thorough knowledge of legal, regulatory and procedural requirements

What you'll need to succeed:

Multiline claims adjuster experience is a plusMust be detailed oriented, have problem solving skills, be self-motivated, proactive, and have forward thinking skills5 years’ work experience in Specialty Inland Marine ClaimsExperience in Inland Marine, General Commercial Property, Business Interruption, Motor Truck Cargo, Contractors Equipment, Builders Risk, Reinsurance, and Captive ProgramsAbility to communicate information clearly and concisely both orally and in writingStrong interpersonal skills, effective time management and organizational skillsProficient computer skills
