The Claims function is meant to be a partner to the business segments, offering support, expertise, and partnership. It is through a proper and market leading claims service that all business efforts materialize the continuity of client and broker relationships in the long term. The existing diversity of the business portfolio demands from the claims role specialized expertise in the different business areas. The claims managers heading each line of business work partner with Underwriters and other key stakeholders to support a wide array of products and offerings, through a complex and highly demanding distribution force and network. Claims has the responsibility of delivering and materializing the product offer and promise. A policy is a promise and the handling and resolution of a claim is the moment to fulfill that promise and make a significant difference.
The Claims Account & MN Relationship Lead role is key to establish a liaison between external stakeholders and clients of the Claims function (i.e. risk managers, brokers or sponsors) and the first operational line of managers within the high frequency or personal lines claims managers (i.e. Auto, A&H, Homeowners) and Multinational accounts (Producing and Issuing office).
About the role What you need to know:
+ Deep understanding of the insurance industry and the claims process.
+ Basic understanding of how global insurance programs work
+ Understanding of the various types of schemes in which accounts are built and how this affects the communication channels between the claims area and the various stakeholders.
+ Understanding of the various internal claims processes involved in servicing a first notice of loss (FNOL), follow ups, claims payment, etc. Also, understanding of the different regulatory and technical requirements that need to be met during the adjudication and payment process.
+ Basic understanding of the claims coverages, restrictions, exclusions, etc.
How does this knowledge translate into action?
+ Partnering with line managers to maximize the service and client experience through the usage of operational capacity and appropriate prioritization.
+ Partnering with Distribution and UW teams in order to complement their agendas and activities to ensure claims is present in the commercial equation within AIG.
+ Partnering with UW and Distribution in appropriately managing expections of special service or service requests in accordance with operational capacity.
+ Partnering with with Multinational teams to identify Producing office accounts who need special handling instructions or claims bulletins issued for detailed handling based on account needs.
What we’re looking for:
+ Academic background: Administrative, marketing would be the natural academic backgrounds, however, this role can accept other backgrounds like insurance, engineering, or similar administrative type of backgrounds.
+ Experience:
+ +1 years in operations or claims or similar servicing areas within insurance companies, brokers or similar stakeholders of insurance industry.
+ Understanding and/or participation in compliance activities (i.e. Solvency II, governance committees, etc.) is a plus.
+ Proven effective communication skills.
+ Good organization and prioritization skills.
+ Proven effective presentation skills.
+ Analytical skills
