CL Claims Team Leader

General Description:  Manage Commercial Lines Claims department. May also work directly with most complex regional clients as a Sr. Claims Consultant.

Responsibilities:

Full-cycle management, development, and training of assigned Commercial Lines Claims Management team.Prepare periodic reports for executive management. Perform quality audits when necessary.Navigate staff and clients through complex claims including Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Directors & Officers (D&O) and Errors & Omissions (E&O)Actively partner with regional sales and service teams on retention and new business efforts.Remain current with Carrier and TPA service and technology capabilities, industry trends, development around key case law, and industry claims solutions. Conduct claim reviews in conjunction with service plan. Monitor and measure financial impact of USI reviews and communicate results to client.Negotiate with carriers to develop special account instructions.Analyze loss trends and business issues. Tailor service plan to address adverse trends and mitigate claim duration, severity and costs using claims management solutions.Advocate on behalf of clients on claim denials, reservation of rights, negotiating optimal coverage position.Assist client with evaluation and reporting of complex claims.Review reserving accuracy on specific claims.Develop action plan and assist with resolution of complex, high exposure or high-profile claims.Provide guidance on litigation management and medical management solutions.Partner with risk control and analytics/placement team to identify loss trends and develop a comprehensive program focused on reducing total cost of risk. Contribute insights and client solutions in USI team huddle meetings. Evaluate third-party administrators (TPAs) and install TPA or carrier alongside client.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

10+ years in a claims administration role for a Commercial Lines agency required. Management experience preferred.Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.Property & Casualty license preferred. Strong leadership skills. Ability to foster a functioning team environment.·        Detailed understanding of multiple lines of commercial lines coverage (generally workers compensation, liability and property or marine & energy). Claims expertise in at least one line. Comfortable with internet-based programs and expertise in Microsoft Office products.Strong understanding of loss forecasting, experience mods, reserve analysis, collateral, etc.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must effectively deliver messages to C-suite.
