Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Civil Engineer/Project Manager. In this role, you will manage projects and provide support to private sector clients (facilities and corporate program offices), municipalities, military installations, DoD program offices, and federal agency component headquarters. Environmental compliance projects encompass Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans, Stormwater compliance, permitting, and management, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) reporting, compliance and program auditing, Environmental Management Systems, and many others. Projects may require travel to client sites or offices.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate familiarity with multiple federal agencies, aptitude for project management, including project team and budget management, development and implementation of data collection methods; development and quality control of project deliverables; and program planning and management activities. The office assignment for this position will be located in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage environmental compliance projects.Provide timely and appropriate support to DoD and other federal clients' environmental programsDevelop awareness of and familiarity with issues, regulations, and events affecting organization, department, and/or customersConduct data collection at client facilities or virtually over email, track all data collect requests sent and received, review provided data, complete necessary calculations to determine reporting responsibilities, prepare the required reporting forms, and prepare technical memoranda or report to document the effortsDevelop and assist with management of compliance programs and projects for federal clients, including tasks associated with audits, planning, reporting, and recordkeeping for multiple environmental media areasAttend and schedule client meetings and prepare agendas and meeting minutesOverall general support for environmental projectsMeet required schedules while producing quality work and supervising project teamWork both in a team environment and without supervisionStrong work ethic and professional demeanorInterface with clients to identify technical requirementsMaintain project management certification, including annual training.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or educationDue to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.Project management experienceBS/BA in an engineering discipline.Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experienceExperience managing one or more complex projects including clients with large national footprint, including coordination across offices/locations/divisions including, DoD, laboratories, data centers, and multiple industry sectorsExperience supporting OCONUS projectsExperience in supporting large procurement efforts and task orders within the contractExperience leading kickoff, status, wrap up and lessons learned meetings with clientsEffective time-management, strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical, and interpersonal skillsExperience developing policy and technical guidanceExperience interfacing with clients to identify technical requirements/needsExperience preparing and providing summaries of relevant requirements for projectsExperience developing and assisting with management of compliance programs for federal clients, including tasks audits, planning, reporting, data entry, and recordkeeping for multiple environmental media areasKnowledge and understanding of federal organizations and facilities, such as the Department of Defense, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Homeland Security, and othersExperience with environmental programs for federal agenciesStrong work ethic and professional demeanorMust have good oral communication, written communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to gain a P.E.MS Office proficiencyAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.About AECOM
