An innovative Engineering Consulting firm in Johannesburg is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their team.

Key requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering. Registered with ECSA advantageous Knowledge of softwares such as Prokon and AUTOCAD Minimum 5 years’ experience Experience in the Transport & Infrastructure sector

Key responsibilities:

Project/programme schedule and cost control Continuous Improvement of Cost, Civil Engineering, Design and Estimating Services Liaise with external engineering firms and associations regarding documentation, benchmarking rates and alternative procedures to ensure improvements and cost saving Optimize standard guides, methods and techniques to evaluate the utilisation of available resources Evaluate and identify new initiatives or enhanced/improved products Identify and investigate problem areas to recommend possible solutions Compile and present special reports when required Broad civil design skills Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes Preparation of specifications, proposals and other tender documentation Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that the newly erected buildings and civil works are structurally sound Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs
