OverviewA national multidisciplinary consulting firm, specializing in civil and structural engineering, is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. The Engineer will support a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational, and mixed-use master-planned developments throughout Southern California. The Design Engineer will be responsible for producing Rough Grading Plans, Precise Grading Plans, Street, Sewer, Water, and Storm Drain Improvement Plans, Site Plan Development, and Tentative Map Preparation.
ResponsibilitiesPlan Production: Create Rough Grading Plans, Precise Grading Plans, Street, Sewer, Water, and Storm Drain Improvement Plans, Site Plan Development, and Tentative Map Preparation.Project Support: Assist with a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational, and mixed-use master-planned developments.Coordination: Work closely with the design team, outside consultants, and public agencies to ensure seamless project execution.Drafting Standards: Set up and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards.Printing/Plotting: Manage printing and plotting settings.Mentorship: Mentor and teach junior staff members.Survey Data: Lead plan preparation from the acquisition of survey data and base map preparation through final mylars and record drawings with minimal direction.QualificationsExperience: 2+ years of experience designing in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Technical Proficiency: High level of proficiency with cut/fill balance grading, drainage, and street design in Civil 3D.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.Skills:Ability to lead plan preparation with minimal direction.Strong coordination skills with design teams, consultants, and public agencies.Proficiency in setting up and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards.Ability to manage printing and plotting settings.Willingness to mentor and teach others.Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.Excellent communication skills.Team player and self-starter.Demonstrates basic knowledge and application of engineering principles.Additional InformationWorksite: Hybrid work schedule.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
