Description:Lockheed Martin Enterprise Information Technology (IT), Digital Workplace and Communication Services (DWCS) is seeking a Cisco ACI Network Engineer to join Lockheed Martin's Data Center Network (DCN) Service Team and lead our data center networking initiatives while leveraging Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) to deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable network environments.
The Cisco ACI Network Engineer will serve as the technical lead for designing, implementing, and managing Cisco ACI-based data center networks. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic oversight, and leadership to guide a team of engineers in delivering mission-critical infrastructure solutions that meet the demands of modern data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the architecture, deployment, and optimization of Cisco ACI fabrics within multi-tenant data center environments.
· Design and implement network policies, VRFs, bridge domains, and endpoint groups (EPGs) to support application workloads.
· Oversee integration of ACI with data center technologies, including virtualization (e.g., VMware ESXi, Nutanix), storage systems, and compute platforms.
· Collaborate with data center architects and operations teams to ensure seamless connectivity, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
· Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues involving ACI, Nexus switches, and Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols.
· Develop automation scripts and workflows (e.g., using Python, Ansible, or ACI REST APIs) to enhance operational efficiency.
· Ensure network security compliance through micro-segmentation, firewall integration.
· Provide technical leadership in capacity planning, performance optimization, and scalability assessments for data center networks.
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams and configurations.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· In-depth knowledge of Cisco ACI.
· 8+ years of proven experience in Routing and Switching Networking, with at least 4 years focused on verified Cisco ACI deployments.
· Demonstrated understanding in routing, switching and data center protocols and technologies (e.g., VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, QoS).
· Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk) and troubleshooting methodologies.
Desired Skills:
· Experience with hybrid cloud networking and ACI integration with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
· Demonstrated experience leading technical teams or projects in a data center environment.
· Familiarity with software-defined storage and compute platforms (e.g., Cisco UCS, NetApp).
· Advanced scripting or programming skills for network automation.
· Previous experience in a lead or senior engineer role within a large-scale data center operation.
· Knowledge of ITIL practices or data center certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS).
· Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center certification or equivalent (CCIE Data Center highly desirable).
· Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
· Excellent communication skills, with experience documenting and presenting technical designs.
Proactive mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $120,100 - $208,150.
