Purpose of Role: The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for driving and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation. This role requires a strong technical background in lean methodologies, project management, and systems or ERP. The engineer will work closely with various departments to enhance operational efficiency, lead and support problem solving initiatives, support projects, support engineering design requests, and lead capacity and efficiency studies

Key Responsibilities:

· Focus Area: Technical
o Apply lean or continuous improvement principles and tools to optimise processes, reduce waste and cost savings.
o Assist with projects from inception to completion, support industrialisation and ensure timely delivery.
o Utilise business systems to manage data and improve workflow; ERP software to manage core business processes.
o Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerApps, PowerBI, etc.) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
· Focus Area: Operation
o Work Measurement: Ability to measure and analyse work processes to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
o New Product Routings: Knowledge of routing processes to optimise production flow and ensure efficient use of resources.
o Project Support: Provide support for various projects, ensuring alignment with continuous improvement objectives and successful implementation and industrialisation.
o Cost-Saving: Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve operational efficiency and reduce expenses.
o Layout: Design and optimise layouts to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
o Efficiency Studies: Conduct studies to evaluate and enhance operational efficiency, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement through data analysis, identifying trends and measuring performance.
o Capacity Studies: Analyse capacity to ensure optimal use of resources and support future growth.
o Problem-Solving Tools: Knowledge in using problem-solving tools and methodologies to address and resolve operational issues effectively (kaizen, VSM, time studies, etc.).
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
• Education: BTech or Degree in Industrial Engineering
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is an added advantage.
