Role Objective:

This role is act as the accounting SME and to provide both technical and functional advisory on behalf of Asia Life Segment. This role will report to the Head of Life Controllership Projects and IFRS17 Project Lead to assist the Asia Life Segment in understanding IFRS17 performance across local markets, managing controllership projects and contributing to the successful implementation and delivery including IFRS17 Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Developing and setup appropriate governance over the IFRS17 closing process, technical accounting results & disclosures. Guiding the team to handle issues (technical, data or financial) occurring during the generation of IFRS17 comparative figures. Understand the subledger functional specifications and able to advise local countries on any accounting functional enquiries. Support local countries in the accounting policy review and results for IFRS 17 by working closely with regional and local finance and actuarial teams. Monitoring the team in executing parallel runs and supporting the generation of comparative figures; testing and refining the operating model to ensure full readiness for the go-live date for IFRS 17. Support local teams in timely completing IFRS 17 and help them transition to a business-as-usual operating model regarding technical accounting knowledge. Manage IFRS17 change requests and facilitate the discussion. Support any governance documentation, accounting memo any ad hoc projects within the Asia Regional Controllership team.
 

 

Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or other related disciplines is required with CPA or other professional related qualifications. At least 8 years working experience in the insurance industry with experiences in IFRS 17. Experience in financial reporting and month end closing is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments and Group / Local office. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect and influence various stakeholders. Language requirement: English (Required), Cantonese (Desired), Mandarin (Desired).
