GE Vernova’s **Gas Power** business engineers advanced, efficient natural gas-powered technologies and services, along with decarbonization solutions that aim to help electrify a lower carbon future. As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, **FieldCore** installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.
**Job Summary**
The Chief TFA, demonstrated exceptional outage execution, will oversee the management of multiple site activities and other TFA’s in the planning, organizing, integrating and monitoring of resources such as labor, tools and technical assistants as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. The TFA will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of great complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities. Will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Power Generating equipment and the mentoring of others in this scope. Will partner with the Field and Resource Operations Teams to create strategy for increased efficiency.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee the management of the power generation site activities
+ Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation
+ Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment
+ Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites
+ Perform oversight of other TFA’s performing administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis
+ Sign off on all changes implemented.
+ Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
+ Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards
+ Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage
+ Proactively seek opportunities to coach, mentor and train other TFAs and team members as a priority to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge and competence.
+ Serve as an example and drive a strong safety mindset during all outage executions, proactively engage in EHS centered campaigns and seek opportunities to intervene in order to support EHS policy and procedure.
+ Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
+ Ensure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site
+ Perform walk-downs during installation to ensure that the customer’s contractors are working properly.
+ Perform aftermarket upgrades that need to be performed at the site level.
+ Willingness to actively collaborate with diverse groups seeking technical expertise to formulate process improvement.
+ Will serve as a senior member of the TFA Competency Council – driving continuous improvement of competence in TFA scope of skills for TFA’s and Field Technicians.
+ Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
+ Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required
+ Will be required to perform other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
**Required Qualifications & Experience** :
+ Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a Field Services role
+ 15+ years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
+ At least one secondary skill (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Controls, Generator, Electrical) meeting or exceeding the required competence of Level III
+ Expert understanding of Turbine Operation & Controlling Parameters.
+ Master technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment
+ Expert oral and written interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
+ English proficiency required
**Desired Characteristics:**
+ Expert Level. Able to act as a senior FieldCore rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects. Demonstrates mentor and team lead skills.
+ Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment
+ Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or extensive experience in the methodologies associated.
+ Very Extensive Field Engineering Services experience
+ Pipe fitting and tubing experience.
+ Previous experience working on GE LM equipment.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills
+ Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer
