Description Under limited supervision plans, organizes, manages and evaluates designated Engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Supervises, enhances and monitors designated Engineering practices for the siteReports environmental compliance issues and makes recommendations to appropriate site management for correctionSupervises or reviews, investigates and develops appropriate recommendations regarding planned Engineering projects Supervises or may serve as Project Manager or Technical Expert, on large/complex site construction, expansion or modification Engineering projectsProvides guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulationsEvaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipmentContributes to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areasRepresents the site on company sponsored steering teams, such as Freeport-McMoRan Environmental Steering TeamPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in Engineering or related Scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in Engineering or related Scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience

Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of EngineeringAble to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsSkilled in managing large/complex Engineering projectsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsSkilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employeesAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

 

Preferred

Established tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and proceduresDirect leaders of the electrical organization in daily operations.  Inspects daily operations and projects.  Provide technical and leadership direction to the staffManage budgets and forecastsDevelops, plans and coordinates the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program developments.  Coordinates work with other departments and site leadershipCoordinates the activities of consultants and contractors

 

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $113,000-$158,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process. Click here to view a sample of Total Rewards Estimate for this role.

 What We Require
