Chief Administrative Officer, US Wealth Management

We are looking for a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for our US Wealth Management business to oversee all field organization operations, financial advisor support staff, and financial advisor development and recruiting. The CAO will work closely with field leaders to drive the KPI’s of the business, including, but not limited to organic and inorganic advisor growth, profitability margins, and expense management across all markets and branches. You will partner with senior management on implementing strategic initiatives that span across product innovation and adoption, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in executing the Head of US Wealth Management’s vision, bridging long-term goals with day-to-day operations and enhancing decision-making and organizational performance.
You Will:
• collaborate with GWM US senior leadership in executing the business strategy for the Wealth Management branch US network.
• ensure effective allocation of resources and cost-control measures to support the firm’s overall financial objectives.
• partner with GWM CFO team in preparation and presentation of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for Wealth Management US.
• assist in developing and managing the operational budget for Wealth Management US
• work closely with Field Leaders on Financial Advisor.
• participate in expansion opportunities (acquisitions, corporate alliances, new product offerings, etc.).
• lead employees to encourage maximum performance and promote company culture and vision.
Field Administration:
• oversee and manage all field support staff, including but not limited to Client Service Associates, Divisional Admin Officers, and Field Operations Managers
• partner closely with the Chief Operating Office and Chief Technology Office to automate, centralize & improve field operations (e.g. account opening, money movement, etc.)
• drive adoption of digital initiatives and tools, along with overseeing all branch remediations, training & development of key talent.
• monitor operational risk and compliance and work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure field operations comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• responsible for branch processes and personal maintenance (hiring, disciplinary actions, HR escalations, conduct reviews, etc.
• institute various talent development programs for Client Service Associates (i.e., career progression pathways).
• act as a point of escalation for service breaks, operations issues and business continuity, client/product issues, and resolving escalated issues from branches.
Financial Advisor Recruiting & Retention:
• source, engage, and recruit top financial advisors, who align with GWM US’s strategic framework and business initiatives
• partner with field leadership to understand hiring needs and develop targeted recruiting strategies
• build robust advisor pipeline, across all advisor segments and experience levels
• maintain and manage relationships with external recruiters and stay informed about trends in the wealth management industry
Training & Development:
• oversee training & development programming across all experience levels for financial advisors and field staff (e.g. recent graduates, client service associates, experienced advisors)
• partner with the Wealth Advice Center (WAC) to ensure seamless transition and training of financial advisors from the WAC into advisor teams
• work closely with Field Administration to improve career path progression of client service associates and other advisor support staff
• ensure continuous training programs are available to experienced advisors
