Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chemist to join our R&D team. The primary focus of this role is on product formulation, including both new products and existing products in production. You will conduct research to develop and improve products, explore new and alternative raw materials for cost control and innovation, and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of five labs within a large production facility, offering a bustling environment with mentorship and guidance.

ResponsibilitiesFocus on product formulation for new and existing productsConduct research to develop and improve manufactured productsExplore new and alternative raw materials for cost control and innovationPrepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and testsProvide technical service support, including customer complaint investigationsEvaluate and interpret test results, making appropriate recommendationsAssist in development and quality of products, and adjust formulationsUtilize pneumatic equipment for aerosol cans and color computers after trainingEssential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field5-7 years of formulation experience in industries such as paints, cleaning products, aerosols, inks, coatings, or cosmeticsExperience in R&DStrong problem-solving skillsExperience with formulations and color matchingAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with laboratory equipment and proceduresFamiliarity with balancers and mixersAbility to work with a close-knit team and contribute to a positive work environmentWork Environment

This role operates on the first shift, Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with some flexibility in start time. The team is currently composed of two R&D Chemists and a Supervisor. The work environment is supportive and emphasizes a positive culture, with opportunities for promotion and growth. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
