Summary You will serve as a CHEMIST in the DIR OPERATIONS of NAVDRUGLAB GREAT LAKES IL. Responsibilities You will operate and maintain newly validated analytical technology in daily production You will utilize new technology and methodology including liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and RapidFire Mass Spectrometry You will perform daily maintenance, operation and upkeep of new analytical instrumentation. You will review, evaluate, and interpret laboratory test results. You will utilize Laboratory Information Management Software (FTDTL-LIMS). You will assist in maintaining the Laboratory Operating Procedures (LOPs). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing principles and concepts and methodologies in the laboratory to include immunoassay, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, tandem mass spectrometry, physical and chemical separation techniques and organic chemical synthesis. Experience performing multiple technical laboratory functions such as: interpreting drug screening results Experience initiating corrective action for all identified discrepancies, maintaining analytical laboratory instrumentation and providing staff laboratory training. Experience certifying test results in accordance with the organization's scientific and forensic requirements. Experience advising senior organizational officials and staff regarding complex laboratory technical functions and Quality Assurance Programs.
