Job Description:

Permatex is currently looking for a Chemical Mixer - Team Lead on 2nd shift. Hours are 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.Pay rate is $29-$33 an hour depending on experience.BASIC FUNCTIONTo operate, oversee, and coordinate shift production work for the mixing of specific formulas, maintenance, and changeover activities.JOB DUTIESCoordinates and schedules production in an efficient manner while attaining qualityMonitors and reacts to Statistical Process Control information, shuts down equipment when there are process problems and makes necessary correctionsTrain new mixersSchedules and performs routine preventative maintenance of equipmentIdentifies, isolates, and corrects equipment malfunctionsAbility to accurately measure, weigh, and add chemical raw materials manually or automaticallyManufacture material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions using computer softwarePerform routine batch quality checks and testingSanitizes/Cleans mixing equipment per work instructions at scheduled intervalsMonitors integrity of mixes and shuts down operation if out of complianceResponsible for accurate and timely reporting of production, labor and scrap incurred during the shiftAssures that chemical mixers are trained in operations that pertain to the mixing areaAssures MRO parts are maintained at desired levels, ordering those items as neededPromotes and follows all safety guidelines and proceduresRecommends safety improvements as neededPerforms various other duties as necessary.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma/GED required3-4 years of batch mixing experience in hand cleaner or related industryMust be computer literateMust be certified to drive all types of lift trucks: low-lift, fork-lift, high-liftMust be able to understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.RELATIONSHIPSInterface with manufacturing, research and development and quality departments.  Works very closely with Manufacturing Manager(s).POSITIONS SUPERVISED (IF ANY)Chemical Mixers on their respective shift.
