Job DescriptionAECOM is currently seeking to hire a Chartered Building Surveyor to be based in Plymouth.
We are looking to appoint a Chartered Building Surveyor to our Plymouth office where you will have a great opportunity to progress your career. Our National Building Surveying team deliver as one 80 strong unit and specialise in multi-disciplinary design services on refurbishment schemes, condition and asset surveys, Technical Due Diligence and Dilapidations. Therefore, we are looking for a candidate with a broad Building Surveying background that will complement our current team and services alongside striving to expand and build the Plymouth team, supporting work winning and client management in the private and public sector.
Job Duties:
Lead on individual Building Surveying, Project Management, and Contract Administration commissions.Fully involved in or managing others for the production of drawings, specifications and tender documents.Survey and Report writing for the full range of typical core professional Building Surveying services.Construction monitoring and snagging assessments.Client development skills to develop business with existing clients and confidence to win new work.Continuous improvement to our standards, processes and knowledge to deliver to our core clients.Mentoring and developing Assistant Building Surveyors and other team members.Establish client briefs, appropriate fees, and cost control through to completion.Financial, commercial and risk management from project inception through to completion on own projects.Experience:
Experience in all core Building Surveying work areas especially design and contract administration.Experience of working in and project managing multi-disciplinary teams.Excellent client and team interpersonal skills.Minimum Requirements:
Have extensive experience of all aspects of surveying from design work to condition surveys, feasibilities, and contract administrationReview, quality manage and approve the preparation of schedules of work, specifications and detailed drawings and tender packagesPreparation of Schedules of Work and Specifications for all types of maintenance and construction projectsExperience working and building relationships within the private and public sectorProduce feasibility and concept reportsManagement of sub consultants and contractorsManage the delivery of contract administration servicesManage and monitor fees, profits and invoicingPromote the RICS APC and support staff through their APCQualificationsPreferred Qualifications:
Be educated to at least degree level or equivalent, in a Building Surveying RICS accredited degree.Have 2 years post Chartership experience.Have excellent client facing experience.Have an open willingness to support developing surveyors and respond to their questions.Be a strong leader and communicator.Be a role model to the team, setting high standards and expectations.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
